In October 2018, we launched an online petition for better rights for community health workers in Gauteng province. It was prompted by their unfavourable working conditions, and their lack of formal contracts. Many were also not being paid. The petition was addressed to the MEC of Health of Gauteng. We collected more than 500 signatures within two weeks.
