Founder & Programme Director: Kamogelo Seleka
Kamogelo Seleka was born in Mahikeng in North West province. She is a qualified project manager, with work experience in the banking industry.
She joined the civil society space after a painful personal experience of sexual and physical abuse. She then decided to be a voice for other women and girls who have suffered from GBV.
She is a member of the Call To Action collective which seeks to influence South African laws and policies about women’s rights. In 2008 she led the #Totalshutdown march to the Union Buildings where women handed over #24Demands to President Cyril Ramaphosa.
She has hosted numerous community outreach programmes aimed at creating awareness about GBV and educating boys and men as well as church leaders about the psychological damage inflicted on victims of GBV.
She also provides GBV survivors with support for dealing with post-traumatic stress. Her other passion and commitment is to mentor young girls and develop their self-esteem during the difficult stage of puberty.
Kamogelo’s mission is to help make South Africa a better country to live in, for its people of today as well as its future generations.
